INTRODUCTION

English Grows provides internet-based English teaching services which are intended to be used by English language students (adults and teens from 14 years old) for whom English is a second language.

100% live online lessons held in interactive virtual classrooms by a certified teacher accredited by Cambridge Assessment English, with an oficial Cambridge CELTA teaching qualification.

100% digital materials, which include digital course books course books, and varied extra audiovisual materials, all meant to enhance educational inputs.
Those may include: TEDTalks, UN (United Nations) or NatGeo (National Geographic) short documentaries, historic speeches by internationally relevant actors, online newspaper articles, chunks of films and series, worksheets or PowerPoint resentations, shared with students as Word or PDF files.

(In case you have already sent a registration form with your own personal data, and want to give it as a present to another person, please send your request to info@englishgrows.com, and the administration will do its best to fulfill your request, as long as the recipient has the same level as you, or as long as changing the level of the registration does not have a negative impact on your former group, nor any other user.)

IMPORTANT

These standard terms and conditions form the basis of the legal contract (the “Agreement”) which will apply as between English Grows ("we") and each person who contracts any of our teaching services (the "Learner", the “Customer”, the "User", or "you"). By contracting any of our teaching services, you will explicitly acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms and conditions. Once acceptance has occurred, this Agreement will govern the legal relationship between the customer and English Grows.

This Agreement sets out our and your respective rights and obligations and may not be varied in any manner other than by us. Any subsequent amendment to this Agreement will be posted on our Website and the Agreement as amended shall apply as between EnglishGrows.com and each Customer, who will previously be informed of any possible change.

Course books are used in all of the lessons offered in this website, at all levels. Course books used have been carefully selected, and are edited by globally recognized institutions such as Oxford University Press, MacMillan Education, or National Geographic Learning. They are edited both in digital, and in paperback formats. All formats include an access code to your personal online extra practice zone, with varied extra practice material related to each unit of the book. Due to our present organizational structure, the course book must be externally purchased by the user, either online or ordered at the local bookshop.

Before you book and pay for any teaching services offered in this website, please make sure you test your internet connection. We recommend that you take the free trial lesson to make sure you have no connectivity issues, and that you are comfortable with this style of online learning. If your computer is too old, or if it is not set up correctly, the Zoom application generally used to perform the live lessons might not work properly.

Very rarely, there can be connection problems between the teacher and the student (i.e. when internet connections are not working — this is very rare). This is out of the control of EnglishGrows.com, the teacher or the student. In these cases, every effort will be made to make sure students don't lose lesson time because of connection problems. If necessary, a lesson can and will be rescheduled.

It is your responsibility however, to make sure that your computer, smart phone, tablet or any other device you use to access our live lessons is configured correctly and that your Internet connection is working properly. Lessons that are interrupted or not possible because of student problems will not be rescheduled. We will work with you to minimize the chance of this happening.

Private lessons are preferably booked during the previous week, and at least before 48 hours prior to the starting time of the lesson. Nevertheless, we encourage the user to book the lessons during the previous week, as to ensure availability.

COPYRIGHTS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICY

The following Copyrights and Intellectual Property policy applies to all of the content found on this website, and the teaching services provided.

i . The owner of of English Grows is the creator and copyright owner of the logos, design, and images found at EnglishGrows.com, as well as from some of the extra teaching materials that might be used throughout the course (sent by mail as PDF files, to the Customer).

ii . All icons used in this website have been created by Freepik, ilham-fitrotul-hayat, Surang, Afian Rochmah Afif, iconixar, lalawidi, bqlqn, hazicon, ajmal naha and justicon at Flaticon.com and possess their own copyrights which must be utterly followed without any exception, unless specifically permitted by law, or by the copyright owners.

iii . Coursebooks used at every level possess their own copyrights which must be utterly followed without any exception, unless specifically permitted by law, or by the copyright owners.

iv . Any partial, full copy, or reproduction of any of the web or the courses' content, for commercial, or non-commercial purposes is totally prohibited, without the explicit written consent of its copyright holder.

PAYMENT PROCESSOR

No card details are held by English Grows.

English Grows uses globally recognized Stripe © Payment Processor to facilitate your payments online. To allow Stripe to verify and process your payments, it is necessary to provide certain personal information to Stripe Payment Processor (including your name, and financial details). Stripe will only use your personal information for the purpose of processing payments and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. You can check Stripe's privacy policy here.

i . One-time payment Packs - When you purchase a one-time payment Lesson Pack, payments by credit (or debit) card are processed immediately via Stripe's Payment Processor, to which the user is automatically redirected after sending a registration form. Once the payment has been completed, the user will instantly receive the correspondent invoice by email.

ii . Monthly subscriptions - When accessing individual lessons by monthly subscription, the full monthly subscription fee will be automatically charged by Stripe at time of registration. The monthly subscription will last for 30 days, starting on the day the subscription is made effective after the 1st payment. Stripe will then automatically charge the amount of the monthly subscription on your credit (or debit) card every 30 days.

EXPIRATION POLICY

Private Lesson Packs : Do not expire in time. Once you purchase a pack, you can book the lessons at your own pace within calendar availability.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Private Lessons

i . Scheduled Lessons

Cancellations or rescheduling of private lessons that have already been scheduled are accepted and free of charge, if the request is sent before 24 hours prior to the starting time of the lesson(s) booked.

Please keep in mind that if you cancel a scheduled lesson during the 24 hours prior to the starting time of the lesson(s) booked, the lesson will be discounted from your total lesson's credit.

To reschedule a lesson, you must first cancel the lesson as explained above, and go through the process of scheduling a new lesson HERE

To cancel a booked lesson, press "cancel" in the confirmation email you received at the moment you schedule the lesson.

In case you had already pressed "accept" in the confirmation email received when you booked the lesson, you can send an email to info@englishgrows to cancel a lesson. Please remember any cancellation or rescheduling of a lesson must be made before 24 hours prior its starting time.

ii . Lesson Packs

If a lesson pack is cancelled before any lesson booking has been made from the pack, a cancellation fee of 30 € will be charged to cover management costs. The remaining amount will be refunded, in a maximum time of 14 business days, to the bank account related to the credit (or debit) card used to purchase the pack.

In case the user has already scheduled the first lesson, and the cancellation request is sent before 76 hours prior to the starting time of the 1st lesson booked, the cancellation of the lesson pack will incur a cancellation fee of 50 € that will be discounted from the total amount of the pack to be refunded, to cover file management costs. The remaining amount will be refunded, in a maximum time of 14 business days, to the bank account linked to the credit (or debit) card used to purchase the pack.

In case the cancellation request is sent during the 76 hours prior to the starting time of the 1st lesson booked, the cancellation of the lesson pack will incur a cancellation fee of 60 € that will be discounted from the total amount of the pack to be refunded, to cover file management costs. The remaining amount will be refunded, in a maximum time of 14 business days, to the bank account linked to the credit (or debit) card used to purchase the pack.

BEHAVIOURAL POLICY

English Grows takes inter-personal respect very seriously. All class participants must be at all times respectful with their classmates, and with the teacher, without exceptionS.

i . Different topics are treated from an open-minded perspective, aiming to create a positive atmosphere, and provide the Customer with cultural awareness.

ii . Discrimination against gender identity and/or expression, cultural, religious, or social background will not be tolerated in any case, be it during live lessons, or by any communication means.

iii . Rude, abusive, or offensive manners are not allowed during live lessons, and the offender will be directly expelled from the course if the offense does not immediately cease and the offender adopts an apologetic attitude.

iv . This policy applies to group and private lessons. Any abusive or disrespectful conduct will be sanctioned, and might result with the cancellation of the contract between us and the Customer, with no refund applicable, and the possibily of further legal actions taken from the administration. In extreme cases when lawsuits might occur, the Customer voluntarily accepts to subjugate all legal cases exclusively to the ruling of the Courts of Barcelona, with strict observance and respect to its laws.
